Ageing can easily show off on the skin but we can do a lot to lessen the impact or slow down the process. Elastin and collagen are significant in keeping us young-looking but as we age we lose them. Let’s looking into the following tricks to a smoother and youthful skin,
- Eat right
A balanced diet will go a long way. It keeps everything on the right track such as beautiful glowing youthful skin, glowing hair, strong nails, bright eyes and a healthy body.
2. Stay hydrated
Drink enough water because dehydration will cause fine lines. Look for a face moisturizer that will help the skin to retain moisture and promote elasticity.
3. Remove dead skin
To remove dead skin is to exfoliate, exfoliating will help with a youthful glow. Exfoliate at least once a week and not more than that. It can be very harsh causing more harm than good. Not need to buy exfoliator separately, just add a teaspoon of sugar to your face cleanser and gently massage and rinse.
4. Wear sunscreen
You can never hear the end of sun protection on this blog. Winter days and cloudy days are the same as summer hot days, wear sunscreen every day even indoors. The only time you do not wear sunscreen is at night. Most importantly wear it correctly to get the right and adequate protection. The correct use of sunscreen and looking out for the right ingredients in it is very important. Sun damage will cause you skin cancer, pigmentation and dehydration that leads to wrinkles.
5. Take boosters
You can get vitamin boosters from both the skin products you use as well as taking tablets/pills. In this manner, you will be fighting off problems on the inside and outside. Vitamins will protect the skin cells, delay fine lines and fight off other skin problems. Vitamin A, C and E are your greatest options.
There are few other articles on the blog about skincare under categories of beauty and health that explain a lot on how to take care of your skin problems. Bad skin kills confidence and adds to our every day worries. Here are some of the homemade face masks to help with the anti-wrinkle journey,
*Cucumber mask
Grate Cucumber, extract the juice and apply over your face and rinse. It tightens and hydrates the skin.
*Olive oil
Effective for skin collagen levels. Apply during the night by gently massaging it into the skin and before sleep gently use a warm face towel to remove it. I love Olive oil especially during winter nights to avoid dry skin.
*Coconut oil

*Aloe Vera
It heals the skin from ailments and it is enriched with Vitamin E. Regular use will fade away the wrinkles and give you glowing skin. Extract the gel from Aloe Vera leaf and directly apply to your face and rinse off with warm water in 15 to 20min time.
*Avocado
Mash half avocado and mix with a teaspoon of honey & plain yogurt to make a hydrating mask. Leave it for 15min tops and rinse. Remember never to use hot water because it damages the skin.
*Banana mask

*Egg white
Egg white tightens the skin to help avoid wrinkles. Apply and wait for it to dry before rinsing It off. Beware, no smiling here it can be painful so stay away from anything that will make you smile while it dries up.
*Papaya

Papaya has antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral properties. It has a lot of greatest benefits with a high content of Vitamins A, B and C. It improves skin elasticity, reduces wrinkles, fighting off acne and melasma/chloasma or pigmentation by whitening the skin.
*Lemons
Lemons are also good at boosting skin collagen for a smoother youthful look. It can be used as a toner. squeeze some lemon juice and use cotton balls to apply it.
We need to look out and stay away from things that cause our skin to wrinkle unnecessarily. Ageing can not be stopped but watch out for
-A lack of sleep
-Stress
-Lack of a balanced diet
-Bad products/cosmetics or bad use of them
-Sun exposure
-Smoking
Did you know that some facial expressions can cause wrinkles? Yes, they do, such as smiling and squeezing your face. I also heard that sleeping on your stomach a lot will put too much pressure on the face causing it to wrinkle. We will age and eventually wrinkle but on our way there let us do our part in looking better.
